Specialty Foods Industry a "Natural" for Sonoma Valley
Recent business expansions, openings, and product launches include:
- Plans announced by Laura Chenel Chevre to expand from its existing Sonoma Valley location into a new 30,000 square foot creamery to be built at the nearby Carneros Business Park. Founded in that late 1970's, Laura Chenel Chevre is now owned by French artisan company Laiteries H. Triballat and produces highly acclaimed artisan cheeses made from goat's milk.
- Opening of the first Planet Organics retail grocery store, on Riverside Drive. Planet Organics, headquartered in Sonoma, is the largest organic grocery home delivery service in the Bay Area, serving more than 2,500 customers each week.
- Opening of Bram, a new shop on Sonoma Plaza, featuring a unique line of handcrafted Egyptian claypot cookware. Visit Bram at 493 First St. West.
- A new release by Sheana Davis, chef, caterer, culinary educator and owner of The Epicurean Connection, of Delice de la Vallee, the nation's first blended cheese made from fresh cow and goat milk.
