A new loan program providing financial assistance for storefront improvements and rehabilitation of commercial buildings in the Springs was recently approved and funded by the Sonoma County Community Redevelopment Agency. The program provides forgivable loans of up to $15,000 for facade improvements and low-interest loans of up to $100,000 for the renovation of commercial buildings. Assisted properties will also be eligible to receive professional design services at no charge. Initial funding for the program was set at $575,000. Detailed guidelines and application forms are under development and applications will be accepted this fall. Properties must be located in the Springs Redevelopment Area.
